Description:
This workshop begins with a concise introduction to AI ethics, emphasizing key principles such as justice, and autonomy, alongside an exploration of the unique ethical challenges AI poses in the life sciences. Participants will then engage in two interactive exercises: the Ethics Canvas, a structured framework for identifying and addressing ethical issues in AI projects, and Ethical Impact Statements, a reflective tool for assessing the broader implications of AI applications, that is increasingly asked when submitting scientific publications. This workshop equips participants with knowledge and practical tools to reflect on the ethical complexities of their AI projects.
