One-on-One Session
The Helmholtz Munich Career Center offers personalized coaching for doctoral researchers and postdocs. Coaches provide support in various career-related areas, such as optimizing application documents, mock interviews, exploring career opportunities, and academic career development. Coaching helps you explore skills, interests, values, define your career path, and pursue your dream job. Sessions can be held onsite or online, requiring a PC with internet access, a microphone, and a camera. Cancellation or rescheduling should be done at least one business day in advance via phone or email (careercenter@helmholtz-munich.de). Please note that failure to attend or arrive late may result in a booking restriction.
Online Walk-Ins
Have a quick question? Join our 20-30 minute online sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 am - 01:00 pm. Our coaches provide support on CV checks, resume and cover letter writing, professional status checks, and career Q&A.
Here's how it works:
- Mondays from 11:30 - 13:00 with Coach Meike Rottermann (Please note: 4th March - 24th June from 4:30 - 6:00 pm)
- Wednesdays from 11:30 - 13:00 with Coach Nicola Bauer
When you click the virtual room link, you'll either enter the room if it's available or be notified to try again in 20-30 minutes if occupied. All sessions are confidential, and the virtual room can be locked to ensure privacy.
Individual Career Development Plan
The Individual Career Development Plan (IDP) helps you - either as Postdoc or Doctoral Researcher - explore career possibilities and set goals, to follow the career path that fits you best. It represents a personalized roadmap for enhancing knowledge, skills, and abilities while identifying potential career paths. The IDP at Helmholtz Munich is an interactive and dynamic action plan that facilitates career success, progress tracking, feedback, and communication. In future, you will collaborate with the Career Center to create and renew your IDP.
