Beschreibung:
Since the release of ChatGPT and other generative AI applications, research institutions and other stakeholders, like research funders and publishers, have been discussing how the use of AI in research should be dealt with from the perspective of research integrity. While a consensus on some matters was quickly reached, other issues are still being debated. Due to the fast-paced nature of AI this debate will likely remain in flux for a while.
In this presentation I will look at existing recommendations and persistent challenges at the intersection of AI and RI. I will address questions of how to transparently and appropriately disclose the use of AI in publications, what to keep in mind when using AI in research and detail what is currently considered good research practice concerning AI when it comes to peer review, writing grants or using AI to create images. The presentation will also raise awareness about issues that are still under debate and therefore may be handled differently across disciplines or is subject to change in the

The presentation has a practical bend covering how to disclose the use of AI in publications and what to keep in mind when it comes to working with AI in research. Rather than a prescriptive set of answers, participants will learn what kind of recommendations and regulations exist, what applies to their research and what is still under debate.
