This is a course for all genders but will specifically explore how ‘gender and gender issues’ are not only about women or non-binary people. Gender stereotypes have negative impacts on all people, on relationships (public and private), on productivity, on creativity, on the economy, on innovation, on accountability – indeed across all levels of societal interaction and human endeavours.

This session hopes to explore some of the narratives of the last 3000 years (!), to understand the power structures behind and within patriarchy. It will show us the lived experiences of women (how they differ from men) and take an intersectional approach to investigating how we can all make worthwhile contributions to greater equality between all people. This session invites men, and those not ordinarily concerned with gender issues to be part of and impact the conversation.

Dein Nutzen:

All participants will have a greater understanding of gender issues for all. They will also develop tools and actions to challenge inequality. Men attending the session will be able to reflect upon their relationship with gender, and gender issues as well as learn actions and tactics to support others and become allies.

Bedingung für Teilnahme:

This webinar is open to all Helmholtz Munich members.

The webinar provides an opportunity to share your experiences in a safe and confidential environment. It's not recorded.

Due to the nature of the topic, we may discuss issues that could be sensitive for some, particularly as gender bias and discrimination sit on a continuum, which includes gender-based violence.
